My wife is awesome!

Jessi is helping the girls out in this photo.

I have a really cool wife. We just finished having Adya’s sixth birthday party with her friends, and it was a huge success as usual. All of the credit goes to Jessi. She goes out of her way to make birthdays special for the kids. Adya wanted to have a “My Little Pony” birthday, so Jessi did her usual research on the net for ideas, and she then she took those one step further, making an incredibly cool party.

An updated photo of the pony corral, after the girls finished decorating them.

The big thing for the kids at the party was to get their own pony (a hobby horse). Jessi found a pattern on the internet, and then she hand made a hobby horse for each girl. During the party, each girl got to “adopt” their pony, by giving it a name, and then Jessi printed off an adoption certificate that they could take home along with their pony. They also got to accessorize their ponies with an assortment of things Jessi gave them. Finally, we took a picture of each girl with her pony that they will receive in their thank you note later this week.

The results of a game of "Pin the Tail on the Pony."

On top of all that, we played a game of “Pin the Tail on the Pony.” I’ll take credit for coloring the pony that we used, but again, Jessi made all of the pony tails that girls actually played with. The winner was Adya’s friend Kendra who received her own special “My Little Pony Toy” to bring home. The picture on the right shows my colored pony after the girls pinned the tails on it.

Finally, each girl got to bring home a small container of candy and a “My Little Pony” toy, as well as a coloring book and story book.

It was a really special party, and it was obvious that the girls loved it. Hats off to Jessi for an incredible job. If you’ve got a few extra moments, take a gander at the pictures in the photo gallery.
