About This Site
I first bought the domain jessiandmatt.net back in July of 2000. So I’ve had some version of this site since then, some hosted by me, and some not. The first versions of the site were hand created by me. At one point, I used Moveable Type, and finally a few years back, switched to Wordpress. Before the days of JessiandMatt.net, I still maintained a website. My first website was built in 1997 as a way to share photos with my family when Jessi and I were living in California. That version was built by hand on Yahoo’s geocities.
The last configuration of this site when it was hosted by me was:
- Apache HTTP Server
- Debian Linux
- MySQL Database
- WordPress Publishing System
- The open source Gallery software
Now it is hosted by GoDaddy.com. It still uses Linux, Apache, MySQL, Wordpress, and Gallery2, just not on my own personal servers.
Other software I use on a daily basis includes:
- Google’s Picasa for picture editing
- Mozilla’s Firefox for Web browsing
- Mozilla’s Thunderbird for email
- Google’s Gmail for email
